(PERTH COUNTY, ON) Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers also conducted 8 Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot checks throughout the weekend. These resulted in two motorists losing their privilege to operate motor vehicles for 3 days.
On Saturday May 04, 2013, shortly before 9 p.m. a 54 year old male was stopped at a RIDE spot check on Perth Road 140 north east of Listowel. A roadside breath test indicated that the male registered a blood alcohol concentration of between .05 and .08 on a roadside screening device. A sober passenger was able to drive the vehicle from the scene.
On Saturday May 04, 2013, at approximately 11:30 p.m. a 26 year old male driver was pulled over at a RIDE check at on Queen St. East at Wallace Ave. North. This driver also registered a blood alcohol concentration of between .05 and .08 on a roadside screening device. A sober passenger was also able to drive this vehicle away.
