(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to set up R.I.D.E. checkpoints across the detachment area.
On April 3, 2013 at 11:49 pm, officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on Russell Street in Kincardine when they encountered a driver that had been drinking alcohol. A 3 day licence suspension was served following a warn range result at the roadside.
On April 3, 2013 at 11:37 pm, officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on Durham Street East in Walkerton when a Silver Honda stopped. The vehicle was found to be uninsured and the driver, 35 year old Jeffery LAVER of Hanover, was charged for Drive with no insurance.
Motorists are reminded that they may encounter R.I.D.E. checks in their travels. R.I.D.E. checks are set up each day as a deterrent for impaired driving. The South Bruce OPP has a zero tolerance for drivers that mix alcohol and driving.
