Police were called to a Welham Road business for a dispute over snow tires. The complainant had stored her winter tires at the business and had tried on numerous occasions to have the business put them on her vehicle.
The complainant attended the business to pick up her tires and in order to have them put on by another company. Even though the complainant was going to pay for storage, the business would not return them to her and she called police.
Officers arrived to speak with both parties. The business owner locked the building and refused to speak with the officers. After consulting his lawyer, he opened the door but refused to return the tires to the owner. A 54 year old Barrie male was charged with Theft under $5000 and given a court date.
