(NORTH PERTH, ON) -A homeowner in the Municipality of North Perth awoke to the sound of two unknown males in his residence during the early morning hours of December 10, 2017. Police were contacted immediately, and the males fled on foot.
Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the males shortly thereafter, arresting both.
Twenty-eight-year old Corey FRITZ of the Municipality of North Perth was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, and Fail to Comply with Probation.
Thirty-two-year old Michael GUPTILL of the Municipality of North Perth was arrested and charged with Break and Enter.
Both males were released on a Promise to Appear and are scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
The Perth County OPP are reminding the public that the holiday season is a particularly favourable time for criminals. Unlocked vehicles, houses, and properties are easy targets. When shopping, lock all purchases in the trunk, out of view. Always lock remove the keys from your vehicle, whether at home or away. Securely lock all doors and windows in your home, and keep exterior lighting on during hours of darkness.
