Bunny Murderer Faces Assault, Threats, Breach Charges

On May 6th Barrie Police were called to a Coleman Dr address in regards to a domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the female victim who advised that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend on the previous evening. Investigation revealed that during the assault, the female was choked and assaulted multiple times. The male refused to let her leave and disconnected the phones in the residence to prevent her from calling for help. The assaults eventually stopped and the female, who is pregnant, decide to stay with the male. On May 6th male struck the female’s pet bunny killing it at which point she contacted police. A 25 year old Barrie male was arrested and charged with injuring/killing an animal, overcoming resistance by choking, assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and breaching his probation. He was held pending a bail hearing. There was also an outstanding warrant for assault, held by another police service, for the male relating to a previous assault on the same victim.
