(HURON EAST, ON) Huron OPP officers are actively investigating the recent cases of vandalism that have taken place in Brussels. On January 27, 2012 officers responded to Brussels Public School located at 650 Alexander Street and discovered somebody defaced the school with grey spray paint. Also damaged were several spindles from the railing at the front of the school. It is believed the damage took place sometime overnight. Two days later, additional spray paint was located on the exterior walls.
Also on January 27, 2012 Huron OPP responded to the Brussels Mennonite Church located at 250 Princess Street for an overnight mischief to the church. Several window screens were torn off and a phone line attached to the building were damaged.
Officers are also investigating overnight spray painting to Cinnamon Jim’s Café in Brussels. Black spray painting was found on the east side of the building. The damage was discovered on January 30, 2012.
Also, The Brussels Public Library located at 402 Turnberry Street was victimized by graffiti mischief. A profane word and an anarchy symbol were found spray painted on the front of the building. The graffiti was discovered on January 28, 2012.
