Brendan Pickett – 111 in a 60, Vehicle Impounded

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at approximately 12:45 pm, members of the County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on the 5th Line of Guelph-Eramosa Township near Side Road 20. At this time and location, Constable Danielle Sargla observed a northbound motor vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. Police clocked the 2012 Mazda on radar at 111km/h in a posted 60km/h zone.

Brendan Pickett aged 21 of Guelph-Eramosa Twp has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the motor vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on February 6, 2013 to answer to the charge.
