(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday afternoon October 05, 2011 Perth County OPP officers were called to a residence on the north side of Line 83 west of Carthage, where homeowners discovered a break-in to their residence.
From evidence at the scene it was determined that between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on October 5th unknown person(s) entered the residence by means of a door at the back of the house. A large number of items were removed from the home including a laptop computer, electric guitar and amp, 52†Panasonic Plasma TV, stereo receiver, Wii video game console and games, jewelry (wedding rings), 4 passports and an external computer hard drive. The culprit(s) appear to have left the home by means of a rear door.
Anyone with information about this break-in is urged to call the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Police are also reminding rural residents to be observant for suspicious vehicles and persons on their roads and near neigbouring residences. If something suspicious is observed the public is urged to obtain license plate numbers and to immediately call the police.
