Break-in To Central School – Copper Stolen

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Monday April 08, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were called to the former Central School at 189 Elizabeth Street in St.Marys where a break-in was reported.

Investigation revealed that sometime between 6 p.m. on Friday 05 April 2013 and 12 noon on Monday 08 April 2013 the building was entered. The old school which is currently being renovated was entered by means of a window on the east side of the building that was forced open. The view of this window from surrounding homes is obscured by large steel refuse bins.

An unknown person(s) removed copper tubing and copper wire from inside the building. The approximate value of the stolen material is $500.
