On May 8th, 2015 at approx. 0330Hrs, the Barrie Police responded to a central Barrie neighbourhood with regards to some suspicious activity taking place within a construction site. Site Security called police after hearing someone moving around on the rooftop of the unoccupied structure. Numerous police units responded; including the K9 Unit. Once on scene, the officers located several areas of the building that had been damaged. Specifically, sections of copper piping had been removed and stacked into centralized piles. With the assistance of the K9 Unit, a male suspect was located within the complex and subsequently arrested. He was transported to the Barrie Police custody facility. The suspect now faces several Criminal charges, including: Break, Enter and Commit, Mischief Over $5000, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments and Theft Under $5000. The suspect was released from custody with a future court date.
