On the 9th of February, 2014 during the overnight hours, four apartments were broken into at a Regina St. North, Waterloo high-rise. Laptops, smartphones and TV’S were targeted. In all cases, the doors to the units were open. On the 18th of February, 2014 a 19 year old male was arrested in Toronto in possession of some property from these break and enters. Members of the WRPS CIB executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at the Waterloo address of the suspect and recovered other property items from the break and enters. The accused was held for show cause on a single charge of Possession of Stolen Property for the Purpose of Trafficking and was remanded in custody. Further charges are pending. Rehaz JUMAN is scheduled for a further court appearance on February 21, 2104. Police remind the community that they can help prevent crime by ensuring their residences are properly secured at all times. Those living with room-mates are encouraged to agree on a plan whereby the responsibilty to ensure the safety and security is shared by all occupants.
