(PERTH SOUTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred earlier this week just north of the Town of St. Marys.
Police believe the crime took place sometime between midnight on May 28th and 4:00 p.m. on May 31st, 2017. Those responsible entered onto a farm property located on Perth Line 14 and once on the property they gained access into a workshop through an unlocked man door. Once inside the workshop the thieves stole an enclosed utility trailer, a John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle (UTV), ATV & snowmobile helmets, a Napoleon folding travel BBQ, a generator, a Dewalt laser kit, and several Milwaukee brand power tools.
Waterloo Regional Police recovered the stolen trailer, John Deere Utility Vehicle (UTV) and generator yesterday afternoon at a property in Kitchener.
OPP utilized the Satellite Technology Apprehension Response (STAR) system to track the stolen trailer. At the time when the Global Position System (GPS) projectile was deployed the stolen trailer was being hauled by a dark coloured Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The power tools and other stolen items remain outstanding.
