(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking tips from the public in relation to back-to-back break, enter and thefts that took place this week at the Clinton Raceway located on Beech Street.
Huron OPP were notified of the first break-in and theft on Tuesday, August 8th. Police learned sometime during the early morning hours suspect(s) forced entry into the raceway grandstand through an exterior window. Once inside the facility the thieves found the storage of empty beer cans. The thieves proceeded to dump the cans out of their cases and into garbage bags. A total of 71 cases of empties were stolen. In addition, the thieves stole six forty ounce bottles of liquor.
The very next night the thieves returned and forced entry once again into the grandstand. The suspects this time stole 10 cases of beer (355 ml cans), 20 – forty ounce bottles of liquor and a case of coolers, also cans.
An estimated value for the stolen alcohol and empties is approximately $2,000.
