On the 17th of August 2013 at approximately 11pm, Barrie Police were on routine patrol in the downtown area when they came across an extremely intoxicated male. When police approached the male to assist with his condition he immediately became beligerent and aggressive with the investigating officers.
Police tried to calm the male down but he continued with his beligerent and combative behaviour. Police subsequently arrested the male for his own safety. Once the male was restrained police were able to identify him and revealed he was currently on conditions not to consume alcohol. The male was also in possession of marihuana.
The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
