On the 21st of July 2014, a 39 year old Barrie male and his girlfriend were before a Family Court in regards to a child custody matter. During the hearing, the judge having concerns for the circumstances placed the male on a restraining order that required him not to have any contact, communication or from being within 100 metres of the girlfriends residence. The order was in place until the 31st of January which was the next family court date for the two parties.
On the 24th of July 2014 at approximately, 2:30pm, it is alleged that the female was at a downtown park with her child when she was approached by her boyfriend. As the female observed him coming towards them she immediately walked away from the area in an attempt to contact police for assistance. While walking away it is alleged the male yelled that he wanted to see his child.
Police attended and investigated the incident and determined the male was violating a court order. The male was subsequently arrested where he was held pending a bail hearing in regards to his violation.
