Type: Assault- Robbery
Locations: Pedestrian Bridge (behind Civic Centre)
Incident: Brantford Police are seeking the two good Samaritans that came across a robbery on September 21, 2015 at 4:30pm. The male and female were crossing the pedestrian bridge on e-bikes and observed the robbery in progress. The male yelled at the two assailants who fled. The Samaritans then called police, however, left prior to passing on their names to investigators.
At 4:30pm on September 21, 2015 a lone male was walking behind the Civic Centre and was about to cross on the pedestrian bridge over the Grand River. One male on a bicycle said hello and the victim passed a second male that was standing with a female at the entrance to the bridge. Moments later, the victim was attacked from behind and punched repeatedly in the face and torso. The assailants asked for money, which the victim had none. At one point the larger stockier male of the two, attempted to lift the victim off the bridge to throw him over into the river. The victim fought back, fearing for his life. It was at this time that the two Samaritans were crossing the bridge on e-bikes and observed the robbery and yelled for the assailants to leave the man alone.
The two males and female fled running behind the Civic Center. Upon police arrival, the victim was found to have been brutally beaten receiving serious facial injuries and requiring immediate medical attention.
The three suspects are described as
• the female was approximately 18-20 years of age, Caucasian.
• The male who had been seen on the bicycle was described as a Caucasian, medium build, 18 to 20 years old, approximately 5’9 tall and wearing a ball cap.
• The male who he had seen standing with a female is described as Caucasian
