Incident: On October 22, 2015 shortly before 10:00 p.m. police received a 9-1-1 emergency telephone call from a man who had been stabbed. The victim a 36 year old Brantford man had been at work at a business under construction at 100 Market Street South when the accused, another employee who is known to the victim approached him. A verbal argument took place which escalated into a physical confrontation where the accused slashed the victim in the abdomen with an exacto style knife. The accused fled the area on foot. The area was searched with the assistance of the Brantford K9 Unit and shortly before 1:00 a.m. on October 23, 2015 the accused was located exiting his address on Eagle Avenue. The accused a 49 year old man was arrested without incident and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. The victim received and was treated for a non-life threatening wound to his abdomen.

Location: McDonald’s – Stanley Street
Incident: On October 23, 2015 shortly before 2:00 a.m. an employee from McDonalds called 9-1-1 to report a possible impaired driver. Officers attended the drive-thru and spoke with a 24 year old driver who displayed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and his vehicle was towed. The accused refused to provide samples of his breath as required by law and is charged with Refusing to provide sample of his breath. The accused was also found in possession of a small amount of marihuana on his possession and charged with possession under the CDSA. The accused was eventually released from custody with a future court date. The accused vehicle was seized for a 7 day mandatory seizure.

Location: Albion Street
Incident: On October 22, 2015 shortly after 4:00 p.m. a 9-1-1 emergency call was received regarding an assault on Albion Street. The accused a 24 year old Brantford man was walking down Albion Street when he approached an unknown man and woman who were getting into their vehicle on Albion Street. The accused started yelling and causing a disturbance while the man and woman attempted not to engage and leave the area. The accused grabbed hold of a window on the car which was partially open and began pulling on the window. The driver exited his vehicle and approached the accused. The accused struck the victim and he fell to the ground. The accused continued striking the male victim while he was on the ground until a passerby intervened and the accused began to walk away. Officers arrested the accused a short distance away without incident. The accused is charged with assault and held in custody for a bail hearing. The victim a 33 year old Brantford man received minor injuries.
