Brantford Crime Briefs – November 6, 2015

Type: Break and Enter (residential)

Incident: 37611-15

Location: Webb Ave

Details: On November 5, 2015 sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. a front door was forced open at a home on Webb Avenue. Jewelry was reported stolen.

Type: Suspicious Person/Attempt Theft

Incident: 37687-15

Location: Colborne Street East (500 block)

Details: On November 5, 2015 an unknown man attended a store on Colborne Street and had a conversation with the store employee. The man said he was there to collect money for the poppy box. The employee telephoned the contact name and number for the poppy box and was advised that no one was sent to collect the poppy box and/or the money. The male left the store without incident. The man is described as a native male, 24 0- 25 years of age, short hair and wearing white track pants, a red hat and black t-shirt.

The Brantford Police Service wish to bring attention to this encounter in case a similar incident took place at another place of business.

Incident: 37686-15

Location: Colborne Street East (400 block)

Details: Sometime in the last several days an apartment not currently occupied was entered and damaged. It appeared that suspect(s) punched holes in the drywall causing damage.

Type: Break and Enter (residential)

Incident: 37699-15

Location: Grace Avenue

Details: On November 5, 2015 sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. a home was entered via a window. Alcohol and an I-Pad were amongst the items reported stolen.

Type: Fire

Incident: 37711-15

Location: Terrace Hill Street

Details: On November 5, 2015 shortly after 9:00 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a small fire on the concrete front step at an address on Terrace Hill Street. Brantford fire attended to extinguish the fire. A broken beer bottle with flammable liquid inside was located. The K9 unit attended to assist with a search of the area. A citizen came forward during the search of the area with witness information. An unknown male was observed running from the area prior to police arriving, he was described as wearing a dark green and brown coloured jacket. Investigation continues.

The BPS requests citizens to report all crimes and suspicious activities which take

place on your property. All thefts from your motor vehicles should be reported to

the BPS regardless if items are stolen.
