Brantford Crime Briefs – November 24, 2015

Type: Open Liquor/Arrest

Incident: 40013-15

Location: Wayne Gretzky Pkwy (200 block)

Details: On November 24, 2015 shortly before 4:30 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on a lot on Wayne Gretzky Parkway. The officer observed a male passenger in the vehicle have an open bottle of whiskey in his hand. The male passenger failed to identify himself when asked by the officer and was arrested under the authority of the Liquor Licence Act, for being under contravention of the act and fail to identify. The male passenger then provided a false name to police. Investigation revealed that the accused was on two separate probation orders and a recognizance of bail. The accused was combative during the arrest and continued to resist at the police station. The accused a 29 year old Brantford man is charged with

Breach of Probation X2

Breach of Recognizance

Obstruct Police Officer

Having liquor in open container on other than licensed premises, residence or private place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Theft from Motor Vehicle

Incident: 39902-15

Location: Lewis Street

Details: Sometime overnight on Sunday November 22, 2015 a vehicle parked on Lewis Street was entered and a men’s wallet and GPS was stolen. The wallet was recovered on a driveway several homes away from the theft. Stolen from the wallet were the victim’s debit cards. Investigation revealed that the debit card was used for tap payments at two locations. Surveillance video was acquired at one of the location and is being reviewed by investigators. The video shows two male suspects described as;

Suspect #1- mid 20s, a shorter male, wearing black sunglasses a baseball cap and dark clothing,

Suspect #2 – mid 20’s, tall and thin build with a bad complexion.

If it is valuable to you, don’t leave an item in a place where it can be easily stolen.
