Brantford Crime Briefs – June 15, 2015

Type: Theft

Incident # 15-18582

Date: June 13, 2015

Location: 300 King George Road

Incident: On June 13, 2015 sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. a locked bike was stolen from a bike rack at 300 King George Road. The bike is a red and orange Norco Mountain Air 18 speed bike with attached saddle bags.

The Brantford Police Service recommends that owners take a photograph of their bicycle

and keep a record of the serial numbers and descriptors. Further to identify their

property we suggest that owners etch their initials or an easily identified symbol or letter

on the frame of the bike incase the serial number is scratched off or tampered with.

Type: Disturbance – Assault

Incident # 15-18630

Date: June 13, 2015

Location: Market Street

Incident: On June 13, 2015 at around 2:15 a.m. a disturbance took place on Market Street near Chatham Street. A large crowd had gathered and a female in the crowd had been punched in the face by another female. At approximately 2:20 a.m. a 23 year old Brantford woman was arrested for Assault. The victim a 33 year old Brantford woman did not require medical attention. The accused was transported to the BPS and released on a Promise to Appear in Court at a future court date.

Type: Disturbance – Obstruct Police

Incident # 15-18632

Date: June 13, 2015

Location: Market Street

Incident: On June 13, 2015 at around 2:30 a.m. the Brantford Police Service was in attendance in the area of 135 Market Street investigating a Hit and Run where a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle. Officers were attending to the victim and securing the scene to preserve the crime scene. An intoxicated man approached Officers yelling obscenities at them. Officers were attending to the victim and securing the crime scene with police tape. The accused was advised to leave the area on numerous occasions however he refused to leave and obstructed Officers. The accused a 23 year old man was arrested for Obstruct Police. Officers were walking the accused to a police cruiser when a friend of accused #1 approached the Officers and grabbed hold of accused #1 and attempted to pull him away from Officers. Accused #2, a 21 year old Brantford man was arrested for Obstruct Police. Both men were transported to the BPS and released with a Promise to Appear in Court.

Type: Damage to Property – Bus Shelter

Incident # 15-18656

Date: June 14, 2015

Location: Dunsdon Street and Coachwood Road

Incident: On June 14, 2015 shortly before 10:00 a.m. a bus shelter was observed to have damage to a portion of the glass.

The BPS continues to investigate numerous bus shelters which have been damaged throughout the city.

Between May 9th and May 10th approximately 15 bus shelters were damaged throughout the City of Brantford.

On June 6 approximately 13 shelters were damaged throughout the city of Brantford.

Type: Break and Enter – Residential Garage

Incident # 15-18658

Date: June 14, 2015

Location: Westmount Boulevard

Incident: Sometime overnight on June 13, 2015 an attached garage was entered. Two bicycles were reported stolen and a vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and rummaged through. Two bikes a Rockhopper mountain bike black and grey in colour and a Hard Rock mountain bike turquoise and brown in colour were stolen.

Type: Break and Enter – Residential Shed

Incident # 15-18660

Date: June 14, 2015

Location: Trimdon Avenue

Incident: Sometime overnight on June 13, 2015 a shed located in a backyard was entered. Two bicycles and an attachment trailer for a bike to carrier a child were reported stolen. The trailer/stroller was a Bell model. The first bicycle is a racing Trek Fuel EX8 olive and white in colour. The second bicycle is a Giant Revel 21 speed black and green in colour.
