Structure Fire on St. Paul Avenue

During the early morning hours of Sunday, October 30, 2016 members of the Brantford Police Service and the Brantford Fire Department responded to a fire at a residence on St. Paul Avenue between Spring Street and Dufferin Avenue.
The fire was quickly extinguished but caused extensive damage to the structure. It is believed that the building was vacant and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Brantford Police Service Major Crime Detectives are assisting the Brantford Fire Department with investigating the cause of the fire.

Date: October 27, 2016
Location: Cambridge Drive
Incident: Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on October 27, 2016 and 7:00 a.m. on October 28, 2016 a vehicle was entered while parked in a driveway on Cambridge Drive. At the time of the investigation jewelry was reported stolen.

Date: October 28, 2016
Incident: On Friday, October 28, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a man and woman, who are in a relationship, got into a verbal argument in the parking lot of the Lynden Park Mall. The argument escalated and the man punched the woman in the face. The assault was witnessed by citizens in the area, who contacted police for assistance. Police located the man and arrested him.
A 47 year-old Brantford man was charged with Assault, Breach of Probation, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was held for a bail hearing.
Domestic assaults are criminal offences. Before life stressors escalate to the point of physical violence and threats, the Brantford Police Service encourages men and women who are experiencing difficulties, to take advantage of the services offered in the community.

Location: Fenridge Court (0-100 Block)
Incident: Sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 and 7:30 a.m. on October 29, 2016 a GMC Sierra pick-up truck was stolen from a parking lot on Fenridge Court. On October 30, 2016 the vehicle was located in the area of River Road and Birkett Lane fully engulfed in flames.

Location: Nelson Street (300 Block)
Incident: Sometime between 10:00 p.m. on October 28, 2016 and 8:00 a.m. on October 29, 2016, a shed was entered at a residence on Nelson Street. At the time of the investigation a CCM bicycle was reported stolen.

Date: October 30, 2016
Location: Colborne Street (600 Block)
Incident: On Sunday, October 30, 2016 at approximately 11:20 a.m. a man attended a business on Colborne Street and selected an item off of a shelf. The man concealed the item under his clothes and left the store without making any attempt to pay. The man was subsequently arrested by loss prevention officers for the theft. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and continued the investigation.
As a result, a 58 year-old Brantford man was charged with Theft and released on an Appearance Notice for a future court date.
