Date: November 25, 2016
Incident: On Friday, November 25, 2016 at approximately 2:15 p.m. a man and a woman were walking down Superior Street when the woman struck the man in the forehead with her cell phone. A citizen in the area observed the assault and contacted Community Patrol Officers at the request of the victim. The woman fled the area prior to police arrival. On Monday, November 28, 2016, the woman turned herself in to police to answer to the charges.
As a result, a 20 year-old Brantford woman was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon. She was held for a bail hearing.

Date: November 25, 2016
Incident: On Friday, November 25, 2016 at approximately 5:50 p.m. a man got into a physical altercation with his brother at their parents residence. The father attempted to pull the man off of his brother and the man started punching the father. The man then pushed his mother causing her to fall onto a couch. While his mother was on the couch, he began punching her in the back of her head. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and located the man outside of the residence. Through investigation it was also learned that the man made a comment to his brother that he was going to harm his ex-girlfriend.
As a result, a 35 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Assault x’s 2 and Uttering Threats. He was held for a bail hearing.

Date: November 27, 2016
Incident: On Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 1:25 a.m. a man and woman got into a verbal argument in their residence. The man attempted to go to sleep and the woman punched him in the nose causing it to bleed. The man contacted Community Patrol Officers for assistance.
As a result, a 31 year-old Brantford woman was arrested and charged with Assault. She was held for a bail hearing.
Domestic assaults are criminal offences. Before life stressors escalate to the point of physical violence and threats, the Brantford Police Service encourages men and women who are experiencing difficulties, to take advantage of the services offered in the community.

Type: Impaired Driver
Incident # 16-44784
Date: November 27, 2016
Location: King George Road (100 Block)
Incident: On Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 11:15 a.m. a Community Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on King George Road in regards to a traffic violation. The driver exited the car and attended a business on King George Road, ignoring the officer. The man eventually returned to his vehicle but was extremely uncooperative and refused to identify himself or provide any documentation. While speaking with the driver, police could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The man was subsequently arrested and advised he was to provide samples of his breath into an approved alcohol screening device. The man refused.
As a result, a 24 year-old Brantford man was charged with Refuse Breath Sample, and several Highway Traffic Act Offences, including Fail to Give Identification and Fail to Surrender Permit. He was released on an Appearance Notice for a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.

Date: November 27, 2016
Incident: On Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 12:45 p.m. a female youth engaged in a verbal argument with her mother in their home. The argument escalated and the youth grabbed a large kitchen knife and threatened to stab her mother. Community Patrol Officers were contacted for assistance. While police were on their way to the home, the woman grabbed a steak knife and cut herself with it. The youth was arrested and taken to the hospital to receive treatment for her minor injuries. Once treated, she was transported to the Brantford Police Service to answer to her charges.
As a result, a 17 year-old Brantford woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, and Possession of Weapon. She was held for a bail hearing.
Type: Attempt Robbery

Date: November 27, 2016
Location: Dalhousie Street (100 Block)
Incident: On Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 10:05 p.m. a man attended a store on Dalhousie Street that had just been closed for the evening. The man was carrying a rifle when he attended the business. The man attempted to enter and set off the audible alarm. The man walked away and attempted to conceal the rifle in an alleyway. The store owner attended upon hearing the audible alarm and the two engage in a verbal dispute. A Community Patrol Officer was driving by and heard the audible alarm and attended to investigate. The man left the area in a taxi. Brantford Police K9 searched the area and located the rifle and a double edged axe in the alleyway. Through investigation, police were able to identify the man and on Monday, November 28, 2016 at approximately 1:20 a.m., he was arrested outside of his residence.
As a result, Cory Alan ROBERTS, 43 years of Brantford was charged with Attempt Robbery and Possession of a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
