Brantford Crime Briefs – 26April2016

Type: Arrest- Assault & Mischief

Locations: N/A – due to YCJA

Incident: On Monday April 25th, 2016 at approximately 445pm, a male called Brantford Police Service to report a domestic incident currently ongoing between himself and his 14 year old stepdaughter. The step-father had come home and found the female and an unknown boy in his house smoking marijuana. After the boy had left the residence, an argument ensued and the female began assaulting the step-father and damaging several pieces of property in the residence. The step-father had to call 911 two times prior to police arriving on scene due to the level of escalation of the accused behaviour inside the residence. Upon the female being arrested she threatened to do more damage when she returned home.

The female was arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief under $5,000.00 and Uttering Threats to Damage Property. She was subsequently transported to the Brantford Police Station and held for bail.

Type: Arrest – Intoxicated teenager and Assault Police

Incident: On April 25th, 2016 at 6:58 p.m., police were called to attend to a city apartment building regarding a 17 year old female who had broken in to her neighbour’s apartment and was out of control and being violent and attacking people.

Upon police arrival, the young female, who was intoxicated, was still acting violently and was arrested. While being arrested she bit one officer, causing the skin to break, and kicked a second officer and spat in the face of a third officer and started kicking the police cruiser as she was being placed in the rear seat. Once at the station, the female punched a fourth officer while being assisted in the cell.

The 17 yr old female has been charged with four (4) counts of assault police and was to be released this morning once sober.

Incident: On Monday, April 25, 2016 at 755pm Brantford Police responded to a domestic call that had occurred between a 15 yr old male and his mother at their residence. Investigation revealed that the son became upset with his mother regarding the house rules, and when she took away his iPad from him he became verbally aggressive. The 15 yr old then became physically aggressive, by shoving and punching her.

The mother did not suffer any physical injuries and did not require medical attention. As a result, the son was arrested and charged with Assault and is awaiting a bail hearing this morning.

Locations: Norman Street

Incident: On April 26, 2016, around 12:07am, a male driving by his ex-girlfriend’s home noticed an unfamiliar vehicle in the driveway. The male approached the house, banged on the door, and then entered the residence as the door was unlocked. The ex-boyfriend approached the male visitor in the house and punched him twice in the face. The ex-boyfriend then left the residence.

Around 2am police arrested the 19 yr old Brantford man for assault. The male was charged and released with a future court date and conditions to keep the peace toward the victims in this case.
