Date: March 23, 2016
Incident: On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at approximately 10:20 a.m., a man and woman got into a domestic dispute in the motel that they were temporarily staying in. The argument escalated and the man picked up a George Foreman grill and threw it at the woman. The grill did not strike the woman, but did hit a lamp in the motel room and broke it. The man then grabbed the woman’s arm and bit her which caused a bruise to her arm. When the woman attempted to leave the room, the man blocked her path and pushed her back. A concerned citizen heard the dispute occurring and contacted 911. Brantford Police Community Patrol Officers attended and investigated. As a result, a 25 year-old Binbrook man was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, and Mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.

Date: March 23, 2016
Location: Clarence Street (200 Block)
Incident: On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a man attended a store on Clarence Street. While in the store he selected various items off the shelves and concealed them in the pockets of his pants. The man then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. A Loss Prevention Officer within the store observed this and contacted the Brantford Police Service. A description of the man was provided, and a Brantford Police Service Community Patrol Officer located the man down the street from the store and arrested him. As a result, a 26 year-old Cambridge man is charged with Theft and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Market Street (0-100 Block)
Incident: On Thursday, March 24, 2016 at approximately 1:40 a.m., a Brantford Police Service Community Patrol Officer conducted a routine traffic stop with a vehicle on Market Street. During the course of the investigation, the Officer learned that the driver had an outstanding warrant for failing to re-attend court. The man was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service. Upon his arrest, the man was found in possession of a small amount of heroin and cocaine. As a result, a 26 year-old Brantford man was charged with failing to attend court and possession of a controlled substance X’s 2. He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
