Location: Chestnut Street (0-100 Block)
Incident: On August 23, 2016 at approximately 8:20 a.m. a man exited his residence and found a woman sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. The man advised the woman that he would be calling police and she fled the area. The woman was located by police a short distance away and was arrested. Through investigation it was learned that the woman had left a duffle bag behind in the man’s driveway. A search of the bag revealed several items that had been stolen from numerous vehicles in the area.
As a result, a 25 year-old Brantford woman was charged with Possession of Stolen Property x’s 6 and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was held for a bail hearing on August 24, 2016.
Type: Domestic Dispute
Incident # 16-31311
Date: August 23, 2016
Incident: On August 23, 2016 at approximately 12:00 p.m. a woman’s ex-boyfriend attended her residence uninvited. The man walked into the residence without permission and engaged in a verbal dispute with the woman. The woman attempted to leave the residence with her infant son and the man followed her outside continuing to yell at her. The man then kicked the car seat that contained the 3 month-old child, causing it to fall over. The child was strapped into the seat and was not injured. The man then left the residence and returned to the Cambridge, where he resides. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated. Police contacted the man and he turned himself into Waterloo Regional Police. As a result, the 32 year-old Cambridge man was returned to Brantford to attend a bail hearing on August 24, 2016 for various charges including, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Assault, and Breach of Probation x’s 2.
Domestic assaults are criminal offences. Before life stressors escalate to the point of physical violence and threats, the Brantford Police Service encourages men and women who are experiencing difficulties, to take advantage of the services offered in the community.

Type: Trespassing
Incident # 16-31411
Date: August 24, 2016
Location: Murray Street (200 Block)
Incident: On Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at approximately 1:20 a.m. a Community Patrol Officer on routine patrol observed a man exit a driveway on Murray Street. Upon seeing police, the man dropped a bag which was later found to contain various break-in tools. Through investigation, it was also learned that the man did not reside at this address.
As a result, a 25 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Trespassing and Possession of Break-In Tools. He was held for a bail hearing on August 24, 2016.
