Incident: On Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m. a man attended a cell phone business in the Lynden Park Mall and attempted to defraud the business. The man provided a counterfeit drivers licence and a counterfeit social insurance number in an attempt to purchase 3 cell phones. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated. When speaking with the man, he provided a false name and date of birth.
As a result, Robert William STEEP, 52 years, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Attempt Fraud, Attempt Use of a Forged Document, Personation with Intent, Obstruct Police, and Breach of Probation x’s 2. He was held for a bail hearing on September 22, 2016.

Location: Mount Pleasant Street (100 Block)
Incident: On Thursday, September 22, 2016 at approximately 1:25 a.m. a Community Patrol Officer was performing road safety traffic enforcement and observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Mount Pleasant Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to the Brantford Police Service where he provided samples of his breath as required by law. The results were 157 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and 133 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The accused, a 36 year-old Brantford man was charged with Over 80 mg and Speeding. He was released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.
