Brantford Crime Briefs – 21Sept2106

Type: Domestic Dispute

Incident # 16-35209

Date: September 20, 2016

Incident: On Monday, September 20, 2016 a man sent messages to his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend claiming that he was going to assault the woman’s boyfriend. At approximately 10:45 a.m. the man attended a business where he believed the woman would be located, demanding to see her. He was told the woman wasn’t there and he began punching holes in the walls. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated.

As a result, a 19 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Mischief, Uttering Threats, and Disobeying a Court Order. He was held for a bail hearing on September 21, 2016.

Type: Break and Enter (Commercial)

Incident # 16-35221

Date: September 20, 2016

Location: Brant Avenue (0-100 Block0

Incident: On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at approximately 11:20 a.m. a man entered a business on Brant Avenue through an unlocked side door. The area the man entered was not open to the public. The man spent several minutes checking out various rooms and rummaging through drawers. When employees of the business observed the man inside, he left the area. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and the man was located a short distance away.

As a result, Michael Goode CLARKE, 43 years of Colborne Street, Brantford was arrested and charged with Break and Enter and Breach of Probation x’s 2. He was held for a bail hearing on September 21, 2016.

Type: Domestic Dispute

Incident # 16-35239

Date: September 20, 2016

Incident: On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m. a man became involved in a verbal dispute with his mother in their family home. The argument escalated and the man grabbed his mother and shoved her against a chair. The argument continued and the man threatened to continue to assault his mother. He then started punching walls in the home which caused damage.

Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated.

As a result, a 30 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Assault, Uttering Threats, and Mischief. He was held for a bail hearing on September 21, 2016.

Domestic assaults are criminal offences. Before life stressors escalate to the point of physical violence and threats, the Brantford Police Service encourages men and women who are experiencing difficulties, to take advantage of the services offered in the community.
