Date: June 17, 2016

Location: Paris Road (100 Block)

Incident: On Friday, June 17, 2016 at approximately 5:45 p.m. while on routine patrol, a Community Patrol Officer observed a woman operating a vehicle on Paris Road who was known to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court. A traffic stop was conducted and the woman was arrested without incident. As a result, a 38 year-old Brantford woman was charged with Failing to Attend Court, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, and 4 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was held for a bail hearing.

Date: June 18, 2016

Location: Washington Street (0-100 Block)

Incident: On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at approximately 1:45 a.m. a man was drinking alcohol in his friends’ residence on Washington Street. The man began to cause problems and was asked to leave. He became angry and punched two holes in the wall. Once outside the house, he picked up a shovel and smashed out a window. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated. The man was located a short distance away and was arrested without incident. As a result, a 20 year-old Brantford man was charged with two counts of Mischief. He was released on an Appearance Notice for a future court date.

Date: June 18, 2016

Location: Sheridan Street (100 Block)

Incident: On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a man and a woman who are in a relationship, returned home after a night of drinking alcohol. Once home, they began having a verbal dispute. The dispute escalated and the woman began to leave the residence to allow things to calm down. As she was leaving, the man threw a ceramic pot at her. The pot missed the woman and shattered on the ground. The woman then began to run away from the residence and was pursued by the man. The man caught up to the woman and tackled her to the ground. He then began punching her in the head and leg. The man grabbed the woman by the hair and the collar and pulled her up to her feet. Community Patrol Officers were contacted by witnesses and attended the area. The man was located and arrested. As a result, an 18 year-old Brantford man was charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief, and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing. The woman did not require medical attention.

Date: June 19, 2016

Location: Helen Avenue (0-100 Block)

Incident: On Sunday, June 19, 2016 at approximately 1:45 a.m. a man and a woman who are in a romantic relationship, returned home after a night of consuming alcohol. The two began to have a verbal dispute which escalated and the man kicked the woman which caused her to fall and strike her back and shoulders off of the bathroom tub. The woman moved to the bedroom where the man began choking her. She was able to get away and contact a family member by phone. While on the phone, the man started choking the woman again. He took the phone away from her and threw it into the toilet. Community Patrol Officers were contacted by the woman’s family member and investigated the incident. As a result, a 31 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief, Intimidation, Choking, and Resist Arrest. He was held for a bail hearing. The woman attended the hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
