Brantford Crime Briefs – 17Nov2016

Type: Arrest – Thefts and Break andEnter

Locations: North Park Collegiate, Wayne Gretzky Centre, Humberstone and Locks Road

Incident: On Wednesday November 16th, 2016, around noon, a homeowner on Humberstone found a male that was in the process of stealing items from back sheds. The accused fled the area on foot and attended to the rear yard of a house on Locks Road. The accused then removed clothing, broke a bike lock in order to steal a bike to get away on. The accused was once again confronted by another homeowner and fled back towards Glenwood Drive, where the accused was apprehended by police. The accused had in his possession at the time of arrest, items that were taken from the residence on Humberstone Avenue.

Police then learned that the accused was bound by a Probation Order. It was also learned that the same male was wanted by police after stealing a bicycle from North park Collegiate on Tuesday November 15, 2016 around 3pm by cutting the lock that secured the bike. On the same day (Tuesday November 15, 2016) the same accused attended the Wayne Gretzky Centre around 345pm and stole 2 wheels and a seat from another bicycle that was locked up. Through police investigation the wheels and seat were recovered and returned to the owner. As well, as the stolen bicycle was recovered and returned to the proper owner.

As a result, 21 yr old Travis ARSENAULT has been charged with Breach of Probation, Possession of Stolen Property under $5000, Break and Enter with Intent to Commit and Attempt Theft under $5000.
