Type: Intoxicated Man

Incident: 5396-16

Location: Market St and Dalhousie Street

Details: On Sunday February 14, 2016 a citizen telephoned the Brantford Police Service to report a man in the area of Harmony Square who appeared to be very intoxicated, fall a couple of times. Officers attended and located the man who was unsteady on his feet and intoxicated. The 58 year old Brantford man was arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act and transported to the Brantford Police Station and lodged until sober.

Type: Domestic Assault

Incident: 5311-16

Details: On Saturday February 13, 2016 shortly before 6:00 p.m. the Brantford Police received a 911 call from a woman asking for help. Officers attended a Brantford address and arrested a 51 year old man for domestic assault. Police learned that the common law couple became involved in a verbal argument over money which escalated into a physical assault where it is alleged that the accused grabbed hold of the victim and threw her down on a couch. Officers also observed an unloaded shotgun and unloaded pellet gun in plain view in the living room area. These items were seized.

The 51 year old Brantford man is charged with the following offences;

Assault- one count

Careless Storage of Firearm-one count

Unauthorized Possession of Firearm without being the holder of a licence-one count

Possession of Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized-one count

*Possession of Firearms or Weapons contrary to Prohibition Order –two counts

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Break and Enter – Residential

Incident: 5327-16

Location: Blossie Street

Details: On Saturday February 13, 2016 at approximately 9:44 p.m. an elderly woman telephoned the police to report a man had just broken into her home. The unknown man had forced open a door, damaging the trim. The homeowner saw the stranger in her home and stated you’re in the wrong house”. The suspect was startled and fled the home immediately. The home owner received no physical injuries and no items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a tall man with facial hair
