Type: Possession of Stolen Property

Incident # 16-34333

Date: September 14, 2016

Location: Sheridan Street (0-100 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at approximately 11:15 a.m., a Community Patrol Officer was at a residence on Sheridan Street conducting an unrelated investigation when they observed a bicycle that was previously reported stolen.

As a result, a 32 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. He was held for a bail hearing on September 15, 2016.

Date: September 14, 2016

Location: Dalhousie Street (100 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a woman attended a financial institute on Dalhousie Street and attempted to cash a cheque that was not issued to her. An employee of the financial institution contacted the business that the cheque was addressed to and was advised that the cheque had been issued to them through the mail and that it had been taken from the mail prior to arriving at the business. Upon hearing this, the woman fled the store and Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated.

As a result, a 28 year-old Brantford woman was arrested and charged with Attempt Fraud, Using Mail to Defraud, and Breach of Probation. She was held for a bail hearing on September 15, 2016.

Incident # 16-34446

Date: September 14, 2016

Location: Dalhousie Street (100 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at approximately 10:00 p.m. a man stood by the front doors of a student building on Dalhousie Street and exposed himself to several students who were in the foyer. The man was last seen walking down Dalhousie Street. He was described as approximately 5’11”, in his 20’s, wearing a dark grey hoody, army green pants, brown boots, a light coloured hat, and carrying a light coloured backpack.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the event or has additional information is urged to contact a Detective with the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 519-756-7050.
