Date: March 10, 2016
Incident: On Friday, March 11, 2016, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a 36 year-old Brantford woman attended the front desk of the Brantford Police Station wishing to report a domestic assault. The victim advised that on Thursday, March 10, 2016, she was driving with her common law partner when the two began arguing. During the argument, her common law partner spit on her and struck her face. The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the assault. Police were able to locate the accused, a 40 year-old Brantford man who was subsequently arrested and charged with Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Colborne Street West (400 Block)
Incident: On Friday, March 11, 2016 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Community Patrol Officers received information from a concerned citizen that a vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic on Colborne Street West. The citizen observed the vehicle pull into a parking lot on Colborne Street West and an officer conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. The accused was taken to the Brantford Police Service where he provided samples of his breath as required by law. The results were 239 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and 234 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The accused, a 55 year-old Brantford man was subsequently charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mg, and released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.

Location: Wayne Gretzky Parkway (200 Block)
Incident: On Saturday, March 12, 2016, at approximately 2:36 a.m., Community Patrol Officers received information from a concerned citizen regarding a potential impaired driver in a drive-thru of a restaurant on Wayne Gretzky Parkway. A traffic stop was conducted with the vehicle in the drive-thru. The driver displayed signs of impairment and an open can of beer was observed in the driver’s side cup holder. The driver was subsequently arrested for Impaired Driving. The accused was taken to the Brantford Police Service where she provided samples of her breath as required by law. The results were 202 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and 188 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The accused, a 25 year-old Mount Pleasant woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mg. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date and the vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.

Incident: On Saturday, March 12, 2016, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Brantford Police were contacted in regards to a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that the co-accused’s, a 19 year-old Brantford man and a 15 year-old Brantford woman got into a verbal argument at the man’s residence. They began to push each other and exited the house. Once outside the residence, the woman grabbed a wooden porch spindle and threw it at the male, striking him in the face which resulted in a minor cut to his lip. The man and woman continued to push and spit at each other. Police attended and the man and woman were arrested. The man was charged with assault and was released on a Promise to Appear with an Officer in Charge Undertaking. The woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault and released on a Promise to Appear with an Officer in Charge Undertaking.

Location: Walnut Street (100 Block)
Incident: Sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, a residence on Walnut Street was entered through a rear door by being forced open. At the time of the investigation money, jewelry and a cell phone were reported stolen.

Location: Lynden Road (0-100 Block)
Incident: On Sunday, March 13, 2016 at approximately 1:28 p.m., Community Patrol Officers received information from a concerned citizen that a motor vehicle had struck a light pole on a parking lot on Lynden Road and that the driver was possibly impaired. A vehicle description was provided and an officer located the motor vehicle in the parking lot. The officer conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. At the time, the driver was sitting in the driver’s seat of the motor vehicle with the keys in the ignition. The driver displayed signed of impairment and was subsequently arrested for Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired. The accused was taken to the Brantford Police Service where he provided samples of his breath as required by law. The results were 260 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, and 252 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The accused, a 51 year-old Brantford man was charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Over 80 mg. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date and the vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.
