Location: Ravenwood Road
Incident: On Thursday, July 7, 2016 at approximately 1:50 p.m. a Community Patrol Officer was on routine patrol when they observed a blue Ford pick-up truck travelling on Ravenwood Road with a large patio table hanging over the passenger side of the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted as a result of the insecure load. The driver identified himself and through investigation it was learned that he was currently suspended on three driver’s licence suspensions and was never issued a driver’s licence.
As a result, a 45 year-old Brantford man was charged with Driving While Under Suspension x’s 3, Drive – No Licence, and Insecure Load. He was issued a summons for a future court date.

Date: July 7, 2016
Location: Brant Avenue at Church Street
Incident: On Thursday, July 7, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m. BPS received a 911 call from a man and woman who advised that they were currently driving on Brant Avenue and being followed by a beige Jeep. The man and woman advised that they did not know the vehicle or the driver and that it had been following them from St. George. They stated that they made several turns and other driving maneuvers and the Jeep always continued to follow them. While stopped at a stop light and still on the phone with police, the caller’s vehicle was struck from behind by the Jeep. Community Patrol Officers attended the area and performed a traffic stop with the Jeep. The driver was subsequently arrested. Through investigation it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of Waterloo, and the driver did not have a driver’s licence. The driver also was suspended on two driver’s licence suspensions and bound by two probation orders.
As a result, a 38 year-old Hamilton man was charged with Dangerous Driving, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Breach of Probation x’s 2, Drive – No Licence, and Drive While Under Suspension x’s 2. He was held for a bail hearing.

Incident # 16-24419
Date: July 7, 2016
Location: Arthur Street (0-100 Block)
Incident: On Thursday, July 7, 2016 at approximately 3:50 p.m. a member of the BPS Auto Theft unit located a white Chevrolet Suburban, that had been reported stolen out of Hamilton, parked outside of a residence on Arthur Street. A man was observed walking to the vehicle and while attempting to enter it, Police approached and advised him he was under arrest. The man fled and led police on a foot chase. The man was subsequently apprehended and arrested while trying to scale a fence on Murray Street. Through investigation it was also learned that the man currently had a warrant for his arrest for probation services.
As a result, a 26 year-old Brantford man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of Probation x’s 2, and Possession of a Controlled Substance x’s 3. He was held for a bail hearing.
