Type: Arrest – Outstanding Warrant and Assault Police
Locations: Money Mart – Dalhousie Street
Incident: On Friday, November 4, 2016, at 4:17 p.m., Police attended to Money Mart regarding a male that was causing a disturbance.
Police investigation revealed that the accused had entered into Money Mart several times over the past two days demanding money from a prepaid Mastercard.
And although there were no available funds on the Mastercard, the accused persisted to demand his money, insisting that staff of Money Mart had stolen his funds. It was also learned that there was an outstanding warrant for the male’s arrest. When told he was under arrest the male resisted arrest by punching and kicking at the officer. The officer did not receive any injuries.
As a result, Brantford Police have arrested and charged, Duc VU (46 yrs) of Brantford, with Assault Peace Officer.
Type: Arrest – Intoxicated
Locations: Casino
Incident: On Sunday November 6, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m., a male was being evicted from the casino for cheating at play. While being escorted out the man began swearing loudly, causing a disturbance the entire way out. Once at the exit, the male refused to leave the Casino and began assaulting the officers from the Casino.
It was learned that the male was also on Probation at the time. Police have charged 37 yr old Hung LY from Kitchener with Breach Probation, Assault with Intent to Resist, Cause Disturbance, Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, and Failing to Leave When Directed
Type: Arrest – Intoxicated person
Locations: Brantford General hospital
Incident: On November 6, 2016 at 350am police attended to the Brantford General Hospital regarding an unwanted person. A male waiting to be treated was wiping blood all over in the waiting room and causing problems for the Brantford General Hospital staff.
When police arrived they dealt with the intoxicated injured male who had just smeared his bloody nose on the triage windows. When police asked the male to leave he resisted and had to be forcibly removed from the hospital, and taken to the police station. His injuries were minor and did not require medical treatment.
A 23 yr old Brantford male was charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place and Failing to Leave Premise When Directed. Once he was sober he was released from jail.
