Type: Break and Enter (Residential)

Incident # 16-37290

Date: October 4, 2016

Location: Strawberry Lane (0-100 Block)

Incident: Sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 a residence was entered on Strawberry Lane through a rear door that was forced open. At the time of the investigation electronics and jewelry were reported stolen.

Type: Domestic Dispute

Incident # 16-37306

Date: October 4, 2016

Incident: On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at approximately 5:45 p.m. a man and woman, who are in a relationship, got into a verbal argument. The argument escalated and the man started throwing the woman’s belongings out onto the street. While the woman was retrieving her belongings, the man picked up a three-foot section of window blinds and struck her in the back and chest. He then picked up a coffee mug and threw it at her, hitting her in the shoulder. Concerned citizens who witnessed the event contacted Community Patrol Officers who investigated.

As a result, a 35 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon x’s 2 and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing on October 5, 2016.

Domestic assaults are criminal offences. Before life stressors escalate to the point of physical violence and threats, the Brantford Police Service encourages men and women who are experiencing difficulties, to take advantage of the services offered in the community.
