Brantford Crime Briefs – 04Aug2016

Type: Uttering Threats

Incident # 16-28197

Date: August 3, 2016

Location: Colborne Street (200 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at approximately 9:20 a.m. a man attended a business on Colborne Street seeking out money he believed was owed to him. He was spoken to and advised that he had already received the money. The man left the building, but returned at approximately 10:20 a.m. and was extremely hostile towards staff members. The man threatened two of the staff members and said he was going to kill them. Police were contacted and investigated.

As a result, a 30 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats x’s 2 and Breach of Recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing on August 4, 2016.

Type: Theft of Trailer

Incident # 16-28218

Date: August 3, 2016

Location: Colborne Street (600 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 a business on Colborne Street reported to police that on Thursday, July 28, 2016 a U-Haul trailer was stolen from the parking lot. The trailer had a Florida licence plate.

Type: Domestic Dispute

Incident # 16-28279

Date: August 3, 2016

Incident: On Wednesday, August 3, 2016, a woman came forward to report a domestic dispute. On June 15, 2016, a man and woman, who are married, became involved in a verbal argument. The argument escalated and the man placed both hands around the woman’s neck and choked her for a few seconds. The man released his grip on the woman and she was able to leave the residence.

As a result, a 30 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Choking. He was held for a bail hearing on August 4, 2016.
