Brantford Crime Briefs – 03Aug2016

Type: Arrest

Incident # 16-28075

Date: August 2, 2016

Location: Brant Avenue (200 Block)

Incident: On Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at approximately 10:00 a.m. a man attended a Medical Centre on Brant Avenue and entered the bathroom in the waiting area. After being in the bathroom for an extended period of time, the facilities manager knocked on the door and didn’t get a response. They then opened the door and found the man passed out on the floor with drug paraphernalia around him. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated. Upon their arrival the man was awake and responsive.

The man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing on August 3rd.

Incident # 16-28144

Date: August 2, 2016

Incident: On August 2, 2016 Community Patrol Officers were contacted in regards to a Fraud. Through investigation it was learned that a man had been verbally abusing his grandparents to obtain their debit card and PIN number. Between July 29, 2016 and August 2, 2016 he made several withdrawals from their banking account.

As a result, a 26 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Stolen Credit Card x’s 7. He was held for a bail hearing on August 3rd.

Type: Stolen Vehicle

Incident # 16-28168

Date: August 3, 2016

Location: Coulbeck Road (0-100 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at approximately 5:50 a.m. a grey Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stolen while it was parked in front of a residence on Coulbeck Road.
