(HURON EAST, ON) – At approximately 11:00 p.m. on November 22, 2013 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Chevrolet Cavalier speeding eastbound on Huron Road just east of Clinton. The officer followed the vehicle for a short distance and stopped the driver on Huron Road near Front Road. Upon speaking with the male driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. Further investigation revealed the driver was displaying several signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested for impaired driving and a search of the vehicle was completed. Upon searching the Cavalier a quantity of cannabis marihuana was located.
Officers transported the driver to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician; Both tests were above the legal limit.
38 year old Bradley RIBEY from Huron East has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 6, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded.
