On April 26th and 27th, 2016, 5 High Schools across Waterloo Region received bomb threats. As part of the ongoing investigation, on May 2, 2016, police arrested a 15 year old male and charged him with a total of fourteen counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, fourteen counts of Convey False Message and five counts of Breaching the terms of an Officer In Charge Undertaking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. Between April 11th, 2016 and April 18th, 2016, police received numerous bomb related threats through social media platforms targeting St. Mary’s High School, in the City of Kitchener. Through investigation, Detectives have identified and arrested a 15 year old Kitchener resident as allegedly responsible for the threats. He has been charged with four counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and four counts of Convey False Message. He will appear in court on June 6, 2016.
