(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On February 16, 2018 at approximately 6:30 a.m., a sport utility vehicle (SUV) was stolen from a driveway on Garafraxa Street in the village of Chatsworth. The vehicle, a blue, 2003 Subaru Forester, Vehicle Identification Number: JF1SG63633H717012 with Ontario licence BYZF 846, was unlocked with the keys inside the ignition at the time of the theft.
At approximately 9:15 a.m. the same morning, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Royal Canadian Legion located on Garafraxa Street in Chatsworth. The vehicle, a black, 2007 Toyota Matrix, had been reported stolen on February 9th from Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores).
A media release was issued yesterday, February 15th, reminding residents to lock their vehicles and to ensure that all valuables are placed out of sight. Once again, residents are urged to lock their vehicles!
Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information which may assist to call Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
