(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On Monday June 24, 2013 at approximately 6:15 pm the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a swimmer in distress at the Quarry located on County Road 18 just outside of the Village of Elora.
OPP officers attended along with the Centre Wellington Fire Department and the Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services (EMS). The Fire Department assisted with the on-water search.
The Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) were notified and attended the scene today, Tuesday June 25, 2013 and located the body of the missing male at approximately 10:00 am. The victim has been identified as Thanh Le aged 32 of Kitchener.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. This investigation is still ongoing at this time and information will be released as it becomes available.
