Blyth Collision Update

(NORTH HURON, ON) – A two-vehicle crash that took place in Blyth yesterday afternoon remains under investigation by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On December 5, 2019 at approximately 12:40 p.m. Huron County OPP, North Huron Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the intersection of Blyth Road (Huron County Road #25) and London Road (Huron County Road #4) for a two-vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation has revealed a compact vehicle was travelling westbound on Blyth Road when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at London Road. The compact vehicle entered into the intersection and was struck by a delivery truck that was travelling northbound on London Road.

The driver of the compact, 34-year-old Michael FIORENZA from Goodwood, Ontario remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the commercial delivery truck was uninjured.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
