(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The only roadway in Huron County that remains closed is a section of Bluewater Veteran’s Highway (Highway 21) from Blyth Road to Amberley Road.
Huron OPP continues to remind drivers that when it comes to winter driving, the message is very simple, “If You See Snow, Go Slow”. Road and weather conditions can change very quickly and at this time of the year, it is very important to remember that the simplest of safe driving strategies can make the difference. Always adjust your driving to the current weather and road conditions and always reduce your speed when the roadways are not clear.
All motorists are encouraged to check weather and road travel conditions by calling 5-1-1or checking online at www.Ontario.ca/trip for up to date road conditions for provincially maintained highways. This bilingual service is available 24 hours a day and provides updates on highway closures and road conditions.
Drivers take notice, driving on a closed roadway may result in a $110 fine and 3 demerit points if convicted.
Also, Do Not call the OPP Provincial Communications Centre (PCC) for road and weather conditions. Police will not provide this information. By calling the PCC it ties up phone lines and personnel used for emergency calls.
