I can no longer remain silent on these issues. It was I that questioned the motivation behind the sale of the trailer park and questioned the answer of losing money that Ms Newson offered up. Her explanation of $17000 not shown but buried in the Rec Admin budget was disturbing since that would represent 10% of that budget. Although this may represent exceptionally poor accounting and management I would suggest that Scandal is an inappropriate and possibly inflammatory statement. But it is does go a long way to explaining the continual flow of money out the door in North Huron if you do not have accurate numbers representing actual expenditures against the proper cost centre it is impossible to make informed decisions.

That being said I do not believe it for a moment. If true then there would have been $26000 of salaries, benefits and administration costs against $25,000 of revenue for a 45 site trailer park operating for 5 months of the year. Ridiculous! I think this was simply a way to come up with another excuse that was impossible to argue due to lack of facts to close something that someone considers beneath their level of acceptance (trailer trash) and not worth fighting over. What I find even more disturbing was the comment after that attempting to further justify the closure. “We do not know how to manage a trailer park or advertise it to make money”. But at the same time you profess to have the knowledge and expertise to run an 800+ site campground that only made a $1000 more money then the Wingham one last year.
