(ELMWOOD, ON) – On January 4th, 2011 at 2:53 pm, the South Bruce OPP received an attempted fraud complaint from a resident along Dirstein Street in Elmwood. A man representing himself as a Bell Canada employee called to discuss an outstanding account in the amount of $372. The home owner contacted Bell Canada directly and was told that all his accounts are up to date.
The South Bruce OPP is sending a reminder to verify unsolicited phone calls, emails or letters received by mail, before sending any money. “It is difficult to hold fraudsters accountable, so don’t send them your moneyâ€.
