Belgrave Road Door Kicked In – Rifles And Tools Stolen

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members including members from the Huron OPP Street Crimes Unit continue to investigate a break, enter and theft from a barn located southwest of Belgrave.

Huron OPP was contacted by the property owner on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Police learned those responsible arrived at the farm property located on Belgrave Road sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Once on the property the suspect(s) kicked in the main entrance door into the barn. Once inside they rummaged through the barn and proceeded to steal an assortment of tools and two rifles.

Some of the stolen tools included a 20 inch bar Stihl chainsaw, electric drill, torque wrench, gas torch set and an electric pressure washer.

The stolen rifles consisted of an older model .22 calibre bolt action Cooey rifle and a .223 calibre Savage Arms rifle with a Bushnell scope.

In total the stolen items are worth an estimated $5,000.
