B&E Update – Michael Waghorn, Peter Vanarkel Charged, Property Found

Charges have been laid in the theft of a business truck, utility trailer and ATV reported on June 26th from a business on Sanctuary Line.

On June 28, 2009 two males were arrested in the Wiarton area (Bruce County) in a stolen vehicle that was pulling a trailer taken from the Huron County business. The males were in possession of numerous other stolen items at the time of their arrest.

On June 29, 2009 the blue Ford F-150 pickup truck stolen from the Huron County business was located in Stratford. The recovered vehicle contained many stolen items that police are working to identify. The ATV remains outstanding.

Although the investigation remains ongoing and further charges are anticipated, two men remain in police custody at this time.

Peter Vanarkel (42) of Downie Township is facing two counts of Theft Over $5,000, two counts of Theft Under $5,000 and three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Vanarkel is also facing numerous charges in Bruce County.

Michael Waghorn (44) of no fixed address is facing two counts of Theft Over $5,000, two counts of Theft Under $5,000 and three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Waghorn is also facing numerous charges in Bruce County.
