(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) Why – Be a Fan Day is a national campaign to raise awareness for Special Olympics and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the amazing contributions that law enforcement has made to Special Olympics over the years. It’s a big “thank you!†to law enforcement across the country. Over 140 communities across Canada will celebrate this special day by hosting a photo opportunity with their Police Chief or Detachment Commander.
Who – Bruce Peninsula OPP officers, Special Olympics Athletes and Members of the public.
What – BBQ meet and greet the special Olympians and law enforcement members
When – 25th of October 2012 at 11:00am to 1:00pm

Also in support of Be a Fan day on October 25th, 2012 the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) regular season hockey game in Owen Sound will feature a ceremonial puck drop, a “pass-the-bucket†fundraiser and a booth to create awareness and promote Special Olympics. The Owen Sound Attack are playing the Peterborough Petes at the Bayshore arena. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Attack ticket office.
