(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – On November 23, 2012 at 3:03 pm, a West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic unit officer was patrolling on Bruce County Road 20 in Greenock Township when a Silver Pontiac G5 was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle’s speed was found to be 140 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on the radar. 23 year old Bassam ALAWI of Ajax was charged with Race a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 15, 2013 to answer to the charge. This charge includes a 7 day vehicle impoundment and 7 day licence suspension.
