Occurrence Type: Breaching conditions

Date: Monday, May 25, 2015 – 2:00am

On the night of the 24th police responded to a complaint in the cities north end after receiving a call concerning a male running around saying he was a wear wolf and would be coming back at the next full moon to take care of business. Police attended and located the male who was found to be currently on several probation orders not to consume any drugs or weapons in which he was violating both. The male was held for a bail hearing.

Date: Monday, May 25, 2015 – 2:00am

Police arrested a 21 year old male for breaching his court imposed conditions not to be with in a certain distance of his estranged girlfriends work place. Police had received information the male had been parked, watching her while she was at her workplace. The male was held for a bail hearing.

Occurrence Type: Break Enter and Theft

Date: Sunday, May 24, 2015 – 4:45am

In the early morning hours of May 24th, 2015, the Barrie Police responded to two adjacent south end business locations in regards to a break and enter. The unknown suspect (s) entered a locked compound by cutting the locks on the security gates. Once inside, the suspect (s) located and removed a safe that containing a quantity of cash.

The Barrie Police are actively investigating this incident.

Occurrence Type: Theft and Possession of Stolen Property

Date: Saturday, May 23, 2015 – 3:00pm

On the 23rd, 2015 The Barrie Police Service was contacted after a female customer was recognized as a suspect who had previously stolen from a pharmacy in the south end of the city. The store manager did not witness the suspect pay for any items, followed her out of the store, made note of the vehicle she entered into, departed in and the male who was driving the vehicle.

Moments later the store manage returned to the store and observed the female on CCTV. It was then determined that the suspicious female had indeed stolen more merchandise during her latest visit.

Armed with the vehicle description and plate, police were able to locate the suspect and her accomplice who were arrested earlier in the month for the same type of event.

A 52 year old female and her 66 year old male accomplice were arrested and held pending a bail hearing which will commence the morning of May 24th. Charges for the pair include Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property, Failure to Comply with an Officer in Charge Undertaking, Failure to Comply with Probation, and Accessory After the Fact.

Occurrence Type: Breach of Recognizance

Date: Sunday, May 24, 2015 – 1:00am

On May 24th, 2015 at 1 am, a keen eyed Barrie Police officer observed two familiar men at the rear of a downtown liquor license establishment. The officer had previously charged both men in regards to a brutal assault which took place back in 2012. This disturbance resulted in the victim having permanent head injuries.

The pair was placed on a court order not to communicate with one another and on todays date, found to be in breach of those terms. The men were subsequently arrested by Barrie Police.

The 24 and 26 year old males are being held pending a bail hearing which will commence later in the morning on May 24th.

Occurrence Type: Impaired Driver

Date: Saturday, May 23, 2015 – 2:15am

In the early morning hours of May 23 2015, Barrie Police observed a motor vehicle driving erratically on Big Bay Point Road. The vehicle was stopped and the male driver was investigated for suspicion of impaired driving.

Police arrested the 40 year old driver and returned him to the station where his breath was tested for the concentration of alcohol. The male provided suitable breath samples, putting him well over the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration.

The accused is facing charges which include impaired operation, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held pending a bail hearing which is to commence later this morning.

Occurrence Type: Weapons Dangerous / Utter death threats

Date: Friday, May 22, 2015 – 1:00am

While on his lunch break and walking to the store, a 31 year old Barrie man thought it was necessary to pull a box cutter style knife on the victim over a vehicle parking dispute.

He then dumped his work hard hat and vest and fled back to work where he was located and placed in custody. He was also the only worker not in his vest and hard hat. He was charged with several criminal charges and later released.
